Peach State Woodturners is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting woodturning and to educating others about woodturning; we are located in the East Metro Atlanta, GA area. We are Chapter #129 of the The American Association of Woodturners (AAW) and support their ideals and purpose. The membership meets on the first Thursday of each month to share ideas, work, and fellowship.

July Meeting
Our July Demonstration will be presented by Bruce Bell. Bruce will demonstrate turning Aussie Style!

The July 3rd meeting will be held at Don Russell's shop at 7PM. Don's shop is located at: 2025 Gum Creek Road, Oxford, GA 30054.

We hope to see everyone there! Bring a raffle item with you!!

Symposiums and Events
Symposiums and Events2008 Turning Southern Style XIV
The Georgia Association of Woodturners (GAW), dedicated to providing education, information and organization to those interested in woodturning, will be presenting its annual symposium, “Turning Southern Style XIV”. This year’s event will again be held at the Unicoi State Park and Lodge near Helen, Georgia on September 19-21, 2008.

Featured Turners include:
Bonnie Klein
Jimmy Clewes
David Ellsworth

Georgia National Fair
October 2nd through 12th, 2008, Perry, GA

Check out www.georgiawoodworkers.com website for detailed information on this upcoming opportunity to display to the rest of the world what woodturning is all about.

The 5 categories for fair entries are:
Bowls
Hollow forms
Platters
Segmented
Functional

You may enter 3 pieces in each category. Entry fee is $ 5.00 per piece.

Congratulations, and thanks to the support of Georgia clubs added prize monies this year will include:

There will be 4 places in each of the 5 categories:
First place $ 200.00, second place $150.00, third place $ 100.00 and fourth place $50.00.

In addition, there will also be 20 merit awards paying $50.00 each and a best of show prize of $ 400.00.

Better get working on your entries and earn some of this money.
This means there will be a total of 40 places paid for work presented.

2009 Southern States Symposium IX
The 2009 Southern States Symposium will be April 24th - April 26th, 2009. Our featured demonstrators will be Soren Berger from New Zealand, John Jordan from Tennessee, Dennis Liggett from Colorado, and Chris Ramsey from Kentucky.
