2008 Turning Southern Style XIV The Georgia Association of Woodturners (GAW), dedicated to providing education, information and organization to those interested in woodturning, will be presenting its annual symposium, “Turning Southern Style XIV”. This year’s event will again be held at the Unicoi State Park and Lodge near Helen, Georgia on September 19-21, 2008.

Georgia National Fair October 2nd through 12th, 2008, Perry, GA Check out www.georgiawoodworkers.com website for detailed information on this upcoming opportunity to display to the rest of the world what woodturning is all about. The 5 categories for fair entries are: Bowls Hollow forms Platters Segmented Functional You may enter 3 pieces in each category. Entry fee is $ 5.00 per piece. Congratulations, and thanks to the support of Georgia clubs added prize monies this year will include: There will be 4 places in each of the 5 categories: First place $ 200.00, second place $150.00, third place $ 100.00 and fourth place $50.00. In addition, there will also be 20 merit awards paying $50.00 each and a best of show prize of $ 400.00. Better get working on your entries and earn some of this money. This means there will be a total of 40 places paid for work presented. Thanks again Georgia clubs.
